Here are some steps to get the images from CT Raster Data into
ArcView 3.x quickly.
1. Highlight and copy the link at the bottom of the page of one of the CT Raster
Data images.
2. Open ArcView, Go to File, Extensions. Click on ECW v.2.0 and ER
Mapper Images. Click OK.
3. A button with a globe will appear in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Click on this button.
4. A box will open with a large space for a URL/link. Paste in the link that was
copied from the MAGIC Web site.
5. The layer will appear in the view and will need to be turned on.
Here are some steps to get the images from CT Raster Data into
ArcGIS 9.x quickly.
1. Highlight and copy the link at the bottom of the page of one of the CT Raster
Data images.
2. Open ArcMap, Go to View, Toolbars, ECW and ER Mapper.
3. When the toolbar shows up, click on the button with the world and magnifying
glass on it.
4. A box will open with a large space for a URL/link. (You can delete the "ecwp://"
that will automatically show up.) Paste in the link that was copied from the
MAGIC Web site. Click Add.
5. The layer will appear in the view. Click Close in the "Add Remote ECW
or JPEG 2000 Image" box.
**NOTE: A plug-in might need to be downloaded (if it has not already been added
to the program). If ArcView 3.x is being used, go to this
ER Mapper page and download the plug-in. If ArcGIS 9.x is being used, go to
this ER Mapper page
and download the plug-in. By downloading one of these plug-ins, an ECW button or
toolbar will be added to the GIS program in use.
