An .e00 ("E-zero-zero") file is an ARC/INFO coverage converted into an ASCII text file intended for exchange between two ARC/INFO systems on different platforms. They are not intended for compression, but have become popular as exchange files. In order to convert an .e00 file to an ARC/INFO coverage or ArcView shapefile, you must have ArcInfo or ArcView and use the import software distributed with them. All of MAGIC's data for ArcInfo is stored in E00 format at this time.

ArcExplorer is freeware product from ESRI which will allow you to view ArcInfo shapefiles and coverages. It will not convert .E00 files into a useable format for viewing. You will need to have ArcInfo or ArcView to do so.

The Workspace Translator is a stand-alone executable that translates a PC ARC/INFO or ArcCAD workspace into an ARC/INFO Version 7.x workspace or vice versa.
