Abstract:

This dataset displays information pertaining to the Five Connecticuts Program of the CtSDC. Towns can be broken down into one of five classifications including rural, suburban, urban periphery, urban core, or wealthy. The Five Connecticuts data is presented for both 1990 and 2000. Data also includes town codes, county information, area information, planning organization information, DEP district information, and coastal area information.

Purpose:

The data was created to allow users to analyze and interpret the five different Five Connecticuts classifications and their distribution across the state by creating maps.

All attributes have valid values. Values are within defined domains. Once the attribute join of town name in the in the town shapefile was completed with the town name of the population projection database file was completed a visual inspection of the values was conducted to ensure accuracy.

Logical_Consistency_Report:

Establishment of logical consistency was performed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Environmental Protection using ESRI ArcGIS software. No automated procedures or tests were performed to guarantee desired topology other than visual inspection.
