Description:

Abstract:

This data set displays CT town population projections for 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025, and 2030. Data includes town codes, county information, area information, planning organization information, DEP district information, coastal area information, 5 Connecticut's group information (urban core, urban periphery, suburban, rural, and wealthy). In addition to the household population projections for the aforementioned years the dataset also contains percent change information for the same years. The 2000 Census household population value is also included.

Purpose:

The data was created to allow users to analyze and interpret the projected town population trends for 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025, and 2030. In addition to analysis and interpretation, users may also construct maps to better visualize the data.

Supplemental_Information:

Connecticut towns vary greatly in terms of population and each town exhibits varioius population changes over the time periods.

All attributes have valid values. Values are within defined domains. Once the attribute join of town name in the in the town shapefile was completed with the town name of the population projection database file was completed a visual inspection of the values was conducted to ensure accuracy.

Logical_Consistency_Report:

Establishment of logical consistency was performed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Environmental Protection using ESRI ArcGIS software. No automated procedures or tests were performed to guarantee desired topology other than visual inspection.
