Description:

Abstract:

This data set displays population projections for CT towns by age group. The population projections are for 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025, and 2030. The age groups include 00-04, 05-09, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and Over 85. Included in the data is the 2000 Census household population value. Data also includes town codes, county information, area information, planning organization information, DEP district information, coastal area information, 5 Connecticut's group information (urban core, urban periphery, suburban, rural, and wealthy).

Purpose:

The data was created to allow users to analyze and interpret the projected town population trends for different age groups in 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025, and 2030. In addition to analysis and interpretation, users may construct to better visualize the data.

All attributes have valid values. Values are within defined domains. Once the attribute join of town name in the in the town shapefile was completed with the town name of the population projection database file was completed a visual inspection of the values was conducted to ensure accuracy.

Logical_Consistency_Report:

Establishment of logical consistency was performed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Environmental Protection using ESRI ArcGIS software. No automated procedures or tests were performed to guarantee desired topology other than visual inspection.

Completeness_Report: This data set was built only for Connecticut towns.
