Abstract:
This datalayer is a simple representation of Major drainage basins in Connecticut. It includes two Shapefiles with line and polygon features. The line Shapefile includes major drainage basin boundaries, the state boundary, and the shoreline. The polygon Shapefile includes polygons for major drainage basin areas, which are individually identified by Major basin number. This datalayer does not accurately define major drainage basin areas or their boundaries because it was digitized at 1:250,000 scale. Be sure to only use datalayer with other datalayers digitized at 1:250,000 scale such as Major Rivers or Town Index and not with the more spatially accurate 1:24,000 scale datalayers.
