Finished Products

Now that you are finished there are several alternative paths from here:
If you didn't geo-reference your image then you can either print the image or import it into a graphics program.

Geospatial Processing

  • If you made a world file for your image you can display it in ArcView or ArcExplorer
  • You can import your image into a GIS Package (if you are doing this then we reccomend exporting your image in ERDAS format)
The benefit of importing into a spatial processing package is that you can combine your photographic data with other geo-spatial data, such as soil types or location of households. Its important to remember that in terms of position error (how well spatial realtions in your image match up to the real world) your image is only as good as its weakest link. Therefore even if you had very little error in your aerial photograph, if the error in your other coverages  is larger then the larger error is as good as you can rely upon. If you need better accuracy in your data then you can either collect ground control points using a GPS system or you can pay someone to collect the information for you.
