Digital Map Librarianship: Amsterdam, August, 1998

The IFLA '98 Digital Map Librarianship Workshop

The Section of Geography and Map Libraries of the International Federation of Library Associations' (IFLA) day-long workshop, 'Managing Digital GeoData in Libraries' on August 20, 1998 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands was cancelled.

The workshop was intended to cover general concepts of spatial data in libraries. GIS and GPS, trends in distributed mapping including CD/ROM and the Internet, metadata, collection building and reference tools will be covered. Participants would have used ArcView 3.0 to work with the Web accessible Digital Chart of the World data, and will be presented a copy of ArcView 3.0 contributed by ESRI Europe.
