This is a 1:24,000-scale datalayer of the land and water area encompassed by the State of
Connecticut. It is based on the state boundary that appears on the U.S. Geological Survey 7½
(USGS) minute topographic quadrangle maps that cover the State of Connecticut and additional
coordinate information (points of latitude and longitude) that define the State boundary
between Connecticut and New York in Long Island Sound. On the Connecticut mainland, the
boundary was derived from the USGS Digital Line Graph Files (DLG) for the 1:24,000 scale
Connecticut quadrangle maps published between 1969 and 1984. DLG information was used
whenever available.
